Dual PIII question

I have a 1.2ghz tualatin and a 1.3ghz tualatin is it possible to run these in a dual proc machine, im pretty sure the answer is no they have to be the same speed ect but im really not so sure. any info would be appreciated.
 
Nope...They need to be same speed, and with Tualatin's P3's they'd need to have the same amount of cache. I'm not sure but I think that only P3-S's were SMP capable.
 
If you have all the hardware, try it.

Technically they are supposed to be the same everything, but I have seen people run a P3 800 in SMP with a 533 Celeron overclocked to 800.

The Celeron doesn't even support SSE and the P3 does, but it still worked.

But Tualatins were more limited than earlier P3's (coppermines and the like) I don't remember if Intel disabled dual CPU on the non "S" versions.

But the fact remains... you can use asymetric CPUs. (Except for PIII non-S Tualatins.)
