I just recently switched to an AMD 64 and now I have not 1 but 2 p4s collecting dust. One is a 3.0 and the other is a 2.6. Can I run a dual system for better and faster games? Are there advantages to doing this. I see servers with dual procs but no game rigs ...why?Just curious.

Sorry you can't. The only dual CPU system for Intel right now are the Xeons.

Even then, if you wanted to run dual, the chips would have to be the same speed.

Dual processors doesn't really help gaming rigs yet. No game efficiently takes advantage of SMP systems yet (quake 3 did, but not well.) The most you might see is 1-5 percent increase as the second processor would allow the system to run the game entirely on it's own processor. Other than that...no benifit at all.

After the Pentium III Intel decided to make the desktop processor single processor only, and the Xeon would be single or multiprocessor capable. This created an advantage as the earlier Xeon's had no real advantages over existing desktop processors, as before nearly all Intel processors were SMP capable.

Right on the head.
Why buy a processor that costs 2x or 4x as much that offered nothing more but branding?

Well I guess I will build a couple of new machines. All I really need is 1 new mobo. Now I can really OC these babies, maybe a media server. Thanks everyone.
