Hi all,

My current workstation consists of a dual Opteron 246 running on a K8WE with 2GB
of RAM. I'm satisfied with it though I am considering adding more RAM or get faster
chips.

For gaming I have a 940 D @ 4GHz with 2GB of DDR2-800 on a P5WD2-E Prem.

I really like having two rigs, each for their own purposes, but realistically I ought to
admit it's a bit of a waste. So right now I'm in a jam deciding what to do.

I'm definetly selling my Pentium rig. From there I have two options:

1) Also sell my K8WE setup and invest in a Conroe / Bad Axe

2) Keep the K8WE setup and upgrade some components

Which would you guys recommand?

Get some 275's or 280's for the K8WE. That's what I'd do. That way you wouldn't need two computers. You'd have four processors to do your bidding.

or wait for Kentsfield in Q1. 1 processor with 4 cores. better than spending all that money on an opty. Despite what everyone may say, those 4 opty cores don't mean 4x performance. a Conroe would be more than enough. Sell your AMD setup, it'll be worthless when conroe comes out.
