Well, because of a very enticing 25% off coupon, I just pulled the trigger on purchasing a Dell 2007fp to complement my 3007wfp. If the 2007 is put in portrait mode, the screens supposedly align almost perfectly. As I probably have only a few hours to cancel the order, I just wanted to get a little feedback from the forum.
First off, I got the display because I plan to buy a HDTV tuner and use my 3007 to watch television. Because of my limited attention span, I like to be able to surf the web, e-mail, etc. while watching. With the 2007, I'd be able to watch HD programming full screen on the 3007 while still having a decent free area to do other things. It's also nice for things like Powerpoint where you can run your show full screen on one monitor while having your notes, etc open on the other.
I'm sure performance suffers some by having multiple monitors, but how much should I expect? If I run Oblivion full screen on the 3007, what happens to the ancillary monitor? Does it shut off? If not, does having to display the desktop on the second monitor kill the performance? Also, since the 3007 is an IPS panel and the 2007 is a PVA panel, will the combination of disparate technologies work out well?
Thanks for the help...
