Dual monitors: One is poor quality...

I have a dual monitor setup with a 2mb PCI video card and a 15" LCD, and a 32mb AGP card and a 12.1" LCD. The smaller LCD's resolution is 800x600, and the larger one is 1024x768. For some reason, the 12.1" screen is kind of grainy - like the colors are set really low, but it's not. If I set the other monitor/video card to 800x600, this problem goes away. WHY? What the other video card is showing shouldn't have anything to do with it...right? :confused:
 
Do you have all the necessary drivers installed? Also, which monitor is connected to which card?

12.1", 800x600 - 32mb AGP card
15", 1024x768 - 2mb PCI card

The 32mb card has the correct and latest drivers, the 2mb does not because XP drivers do not exist. I had this same setup a while ago and it worked fine, then I reformatted and this problem started.
 
the problem probally didn't start during your format persay, its probally just that you've forgotten to install/set something the way it was before

Have you thought about switching the pairs? A 2mb card should be able to drive 10x7 easily...but it would be even easier to drive 8x6.

Also, what type of card is the 2mb PCI?
