Okay, so I've got a 21'' sony trintron and a 17'' samtron that I want to setup as a dual monitor system on my rig. How do I do it first off? Next, what piece of software is the best to use?

Idealy I would like to be able to do exactly this..

Have two seperate desktop screens basically and not have something stretched onto the other screen.

I would also like to run my sony at 1280x1024 @ 100hz and I would like to run my samtron at 1024x768 @ 100hz.

Thank you all for helping out.

configure it on the settings tab on display properties.

whatever your primary monitor is (i'm assuming the 21") set that to 1280x1024... then set whatever your secondary is to 1024x768 and drag it around in the box till you get them set up similar to how they are physically on your desk.

if you want a good piece of software, pick up Ultramon . then configure it to how you like it.

Oh.. and Dual monitors are Awesome.

oh. for you, might i suggest turning the 17"er physically on it's side (using some monitor display properties.. i forget which to rotate the visible desktop) and using them as a 2048x1024 resolution desktop?

Okay, now heres the delima. I've got both monitors working fine but when I use Windows Media Player I have and I have it full screened I move over to the other monitor to talk on aim and it un maximizes GAHH - How do I fix?

i cant get around that.

maybe a dvd player will get around that... something like PowerDVD. something meant to run at fullscreen ALL the time.

what are you talking on aim while watching porn at the same time for? :p

lol, just kidding. like i said, get a designated video player. it'll be more stable than wmp.

Alright - Will do - Actually I'm watching Gumball Rally 3000 ( Mischeif 3000 ) Friggen awesome - I <3 fast cars + computers. Too bad I'm not old enough to fkin DRIVEEE lol.

Yea Pr0n and Aim is def why you need dual monitors though.

Search for and download ZoomPlayer. its perfect for dual monitor setups. It will solve your media playing issues.

I use Zoom player and it will stay at full screen while doing other stuff on the other displays.
I sometimes watch a movie on the 19" while I work on the 21".
Ultramon is also a nice utility, been using it for a couple of years now.
