Dual inputs on an LCD

I'm havinga hard time figuring out if when an LCD has two inputs, IE DVI and analog, does that mean you can plug two seperate sources into it? I know they make lots of monitors and LCDs that let you have multiple sources on a single screen, with a little button that lets you switch between sources, but i can't tell if a monitor that has DVI and analog supports this.

If anyone knows some 15 and 17 inch models that do it would be appreciated.
 
Any LCD with a DVI input will have a 15 pin Dsub input. Yes, the dual input allows you to drive the monitor from 2 seperate computers. For example, I have a development box and my regular box, along with 2 LCD's. With the press of a button on each monitor, I can switch which input the monitor uses and consequently switch between my 2 boxes.

Honestly though, you don't need to have an LCD with 2 inputs. Any KVM switch will allow you to switch 15 pin Dsub VGA connections, and these cost as little as $20.00.

Kvms are worthless. Every one I have ever used degraded the video at high resolutions. Started adding shadows to text and such. I actually bought my monitor because it has dual analog inputs. I tried a kvm on my old monitor but it just wasn't up to par.

:eek: so THAT'S what the button on the far left of my 1800fps do....ahhh very nifty indeed
