dual heatercore enough?

As soon as i can find the money to, I plan on modding 1 or 2 heatercores for my system. The system is as follows:
DFI Ultra-D
XFX 7800GTX
Venice 3200+
G.Skill 4400 LE 1 GB

Basically, I need everyones opinion on if a single dual heater core would be enough to cool those with a 2.7 on the core, and 500/1.4 on the GTX. Or should i run separate loops for the card and the cpu? Not really sure on that, but i think the dual should be enough. WC Setup is:
TDX (replaced with Apogee soon)
D4
Swiftech 5 1/4 Res
DD Maze4 GPU

Any input would be nice, and I did search the threads but didnt get the response i wanted. thx in advance.

no guarentees regarding what overclock you will hit, but a double heater core is plenty, unless you are targeting some unusually low noise levels.
 
no, i know the mem/cpu will hit 2.7 as they have before the temps were just outrageous on the stock a64 sink (55-60C), and the xfx is doing 499/1.35 stock so i think with water it should be able to hit the 500 mark when i get water im going to mod the bios so i can get a bit more juice and the cold bug and throttling fixed. Thx for the input.

evo 120 being dual with the 80 being single? or is that the 240 double? and thats damn good for a single ^^

people new to the game tend to think that they need massive rads (120.2/3) etc for watercooling to work.. but i'll tell you a secret, you don't (shh! don't tell!)

A single 120mm rad would work fine in almost all applications, but people going water tend to have a fetish for going as low as they can (wrt temperatures).

On a more sensible note, it's also better economy to buy the biggest you can afford/fit as that means that there is more capacity for future proofing for when you want to add an extra component.

ya its a single 120 mm rad and it can put some temp up for a low flow set up. you may want to go with a 240 if your running highflow. just to be safe im not to up to date with them set ups.

Actually, a heatercore cost just as much as a gooddual 120 would cost onc eyou figure in the time it takes to modify it, mount it, and put a shroud on it. Going for a BIP2 is just as cheap.

still take time to dremel the hole/holes for a dual radiator anyways, and modding a heatercore take about 30 mins...its not really that big of a deal, but i understand what you are saying. BIP2 still doesnt have the cooling power of a heatercore (from what i've read)

I actually notice my water temps and GPU are 1-2c higher when I switched my GPU/NB/RAM loop from a 120.2 to a 120.1 radiator. My load temps are also a touch higher.

Do you know what it took to get plug n cool fittings on a Thermochill? That was work.

All that hard work for nothing! Thermochill now sell plug and cool fittings for all the popular sizes to fit on their rads :p

Exactly! :D going from a dual to single rad hasn't drastically done much harm to your temps!

But I can't really talk because I went overkill!! :p (HE120.2 and an Evo360!!! :D)
