Hey all... did a search for my question, but learned I have no idea what you all are talking about when it comes to RAID 0, 1, ETC and a dual boot system.

I want to take the HD out of my old system, 380g WD IDE and put it in my new system.
I want to be able to run only games from the new HD through Vista, haven't bought it yet, and do all my internet and other crap from the old HD through XP without having to reboot and tell BIOS which HD to boot from. More like a huge folder that I can click on and go from there.

First off... is this possible?
... what is it called?
... can you point me in the direction of , well... some directions

You can run a Virtual Machine.

I have not done it personally, but here are a couple of sites that are recommended by MAXIMUM PC.

and

http://www.virtualbox.org/

To make things a quick as possible I would go with Vista 64 and run with at least 6 gig of RAM, but 12 GIG would be better if you don't want to do any extreme overclocking.

I don't know if you can run your existing install of XP this way or not though.

Ya, I am building a 2.66 i7, Vista 64-bit and am going to start out with 6 gigs, and hope to upgrade to at least 12 by the end of the year.
