Dual Everything, See a Trend?

...kinda. I don't think for a moment the getting "dual" CPU's / GPU's to play nice and actually outperform a fast single processor is the "easy" way out, but I am starting to belive that it's the only way given the current state of technology and chip architecture.

If an efficient way to fully utilize dual processing paths for all applications really surfaces....I may have to rethink that last statement.

FWIW - B.B.S.

Indeed, Duallies aren't a sign of weakness of an industry if they are being used properly, but as it stands SLI is the only dual setup that show performance boost right now (the jury is still out on the upcoming dual cores), and even then it's not cost effective.

Run more than one CPU-intensive app at once.

But yeah, it would be nice if more apps were written to be multithreaded, but that's a programming headache.
