Dual DVI-D GPU's?

I've currently got a Monoprice 27" 2560x1400 LED that I'm extermely happy with and thinking of adding a second. Looks like each of those requires a DVI-D connection and my current Gigabyte 770 GTX only has one and maxes out at 4096 x 2160.

Are there really any options for a new GPU other than adding in a 2nd GPU? I'd rather avoid that since my mobo's 2nd x16 slot will only run x4.

Since those monitors do not have a display port connection, another other potential option is to use a active display port to DVI-D adapter. These aren't cheap (~$100) but they are much cheaper than a new video card.

I have one if you would be interested as I decided to get one 1440p instead of 3x1200p.

Hmm, thanks for the info so far. Still not sure it'll work on the 770. This taken direct from the description of the monitor. "This monitor is designed for the high end. It only supports Dual Link Digital DVI-D input, but it produces a tight 2560x1440 resolution."

My GPU has one Dual Link DVI-I and one Dual Link DVI-D. I just haven't even seen any cards with two DVI-D's. My guess is that it's not so much having two "Dual Links", but it's that I'll need 2 Dual Link "Digital" connections. GPU claims to have a Max Digital resolution of 4092x2160 and max analog of 2048x1536 and there's no way to push 2560x1440 digital out both ports. I know I can just give it a shot and see if it works, but I was hoping to have everything set before I ordered :)

DVI-i just means it supports dvi-d and dvi-a out. dvi-I just has the 4 pins needed for a vga converter.

While i would think nvidia would make both dvi ports dual link, you will find alot of posts on the 7xx series not working with 2 1440p monitors on dvi.

Also your max 4092x2160 is so it can put out"4k" over hdmi. That is not a total pixel out per card, that is a total pixel out per port. You can still play battle of honor at 5760x1080 over 3 monitors.

Still its just odd, i assume if you experiment that your monitor works on both ports. I know on my pny i can use my 1440p on either port. You might not need an adapter!

My GPU has one Dual Link DVI-I and one Dual Link DVI-D.

As such, you can drive two digital displays (each of them dual-link). The DVI-I port just happens to also support an analog display via an adapter. You should have no issue driving two 2560x1440 displays using the two DVI ports on that card. :)
