Dual Displays, differant resolutions?

I have a Geforce 7900 GS with 256 mb and has two outputs.

The monitors are a Samesung SynMaster 2253 BW (resolution is 1680x1050) and an Acer (resolution: 1280x1024)

I'm using the lastest nvidia drivers.

I can't seem to set them at separate resolutions. Any ideas?

How are you currently trying to achieve it? Are you using the nivida control panel?

This is how i got mine to work:

- Plug both displays in first
- Start computer
- Go to Nvidia control manager
- Select "Set up multiple displays"
- select "configured independently from each other (DualView)"
- select what displays to use and which one as primary (i.e. usually the one the tool bar will be on)
- then go to change resolution and set desired resolution for each screen

Note:
if the displays are not plugged in before starting the computer then "Dualview" will not be a displayed option.

That's weird, I have the same setup for the most part, and I just went ahead and used Windows, it was configured automatically to native resolution in Windows 7, but Vista did that too.
