Dual Display With Audio

I am running dual displays, my main computer monitor is on a mini display port to HDMI adapter and I have a 50" LED on the HDMI port. I mainly did this so my kids can watch videos on the 50" LED while I still use the main display for everything I do. I have been running on extended display and just dragging the video to the extended display. Then I have to go to sound settings and make the HDMI my default sound device in order for the sound to go to the 50" display. Which is fine but then I cant use the sound card audio for playing games at the same time as they watch movies. So my question is, is there a way to use the HDMI audio for the extended display while still using the audio from my main display on my computer speakers? Sorry if this is confusing, I was trying to find the best way to explain my situation. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Forgot to mention this is on Windows 7.

You may be able to find a video player that lets you independently select the audio output device, rather than only relying on the Windows default.
Then you can leave the player set to use HDMI and leave windows set up for gaming.

In previous tests, I found that when I select a default playback device in windows and use it, when I change the default device while the audio is playing, the audio still continues to play from the previous default device. But new playback from a different source uses the new default audio device.
If this works for you, you can select HDMI audio out, start the video playback and then change the default audio device for your gaming.

Yes, I used to do this before I had a separate PC for my TV.

You can set the audio playback device in Media Player Classic (get it with the k-lite codec pack). Just change it from default to your TV.
Then just have your windows default set to your PC speakers and games will use those.

Ok thanks guys I will try changing the audio playback device in windows media player in the morning and let you guys know if it works. Thanks for the help!
