Dual display with a 9600XT, possible

I 'll probably be buying a monitor in abotu a monh or two and I really don't want to get rid of the old one if i can hook both up, is it possible with the 9600XT or not, is there a mod that can be done? thx for the help.

Yes, the 9600XT supports dual displays. It has a dvi and an analog output.

it depends what kind of monitors you want to use. a crt and a dvi monitor will work in dual monitor setup without even having to spend a penny, just hook both up. you can run dual CRT monitors using a dvi to vga adapter which retail for $10-30. but you can NOT run dual DVI monitors because for as far as i know, theres no vga to dvi adapters.

the ati card should come pre-packaged with the adapter. My 9800 np and 9800 Pro both came with the adapter

The 9600XT does not come with the DVI adapter. Mine didn't and it is not mentioned on the box where it says "Whats In The Box".
Retail BBA 9600XT.

My Gigabyte 9600xt came with the adapter. I think I might give it a shot tonight.
