I am wanting to try something out here. I recently purchased the new Hyundai L90D+ DVI LCD. I have a NEC FE771sb 17"crt thats VGA of course. Now my video card is a BuiltBy-ATI Radeon x800 PRO with both VGA and DVI outputs. I want to to pretty much CLONE whats going out to go to both monitors, both VGA and DVI at the same time, I am wanting to do some comparisons and this is the only way I can do it.

What I mean is have the CRT plugged into VGA on the card, and the LCD plugged into the DVI on the card.

This cloing DOES happen when I boot up the computer, when the WINDOWS XP pro is loading with the bars at the bottom. It shows this on both screens, but when its logging into the use it switches to the LCD (which is the number 1 monitor under display settings).

I have looked EVERYWHERE in the ATI settings in ctrl panel - displays - settings -advanced - all ATI settings.

I am not sure if this is possible with Radeon, I think its possible with GEFORE, but let me know what I can do if I am wrong here. Thanks!

It is possible with GeForce cards, but sorry I am not sure about Radeons, but I don't see why they wouldn't.

Too bad you have a ATI Card, you can do cloning with Ultramon....but you have to buy that....

Ok

go into properties and untick the 'extend my windows desktop onto this monitor' option

then go into advanced>displays and on the second monitor click the button that looks like two screens one infront of the other

then apply

Works for me :p
