I am going to be getting two 17in lcd displays for my rig. Right now I run dual crt monitors at 1024 x 768. The new CRT's should be at 1280 x 1024. yet under the second monitor I do not have the option to get that that resolution. Can only go to 1024 x 768. Haven't tried the lcds yet (christmas gift) but I am just making sure that I can run dual monitors at 1280 x 1024 with an 9800xt. Right now I can't. Any suggestions on how this can be done if possible?

You're not being too clear. You mention new LCDs, and then new CRTs. Do you already have one CRT and you're buying a second monitor?

Anyhow, hope this answers your question. I had bought a Radeon 9600XT recently, and it said on the box that you could run two different displays at different resolutions and refresh rates at the same time. However, if the two are the same size, it would seem better to run them both at the same resolution, otherwise it won't be comfortable. 1280x1024 is a little high for a 17" monitor anyways, so I recommend running them both in 1024x768.

Right now I am running dual CRT monitors at 1024 x 768 but I want to be able to run them at 1280 x 1024 but I can't seem to run it at that...the monitor settings only go to 1024 x 768. I just wanna make sure that I can run dual monitors at 1280 x 1024 with an 9800xt. Right now I can't.

windows hides what your monitors cant support.....so the ones you have now cant support 1280x1024

but the new ones should

The Radeon 9800XT certainly supports that. If your monitors support it as well, then you should install the appropriate driver for them. The default "plug and play monitor" should work, otherwise, look for a driver from the company.
