Hello,

For a two cpu board like this one, does the idle power of the two CPU's add up. If I use two of these E5-2623v3 cpu's rated at a TDP of 85W, how much will be the idle power relative to single CPU?

Thanks

Figure 5 watts of power at idle, it won't cost you more than a few dollars a year.

5 watts for the second cpu? That sounds a bit low.

It's literally sitting there doing close to zero work, how much power do you expect it to use? A single CPU system with a current Intel CPU will usually report around 5w at (mostly) idle when reading the package power consumption directly from the CPU, and that 5w is keeping the system running.

That is good news then. A multi-CPU doesnt consume too much power then except the motherboard/memory overhead.
