Dual Core troubles

I just upgraded to an Athlon64 X2 4400+ the 89 watt version. Last night I booted windows and all was good till HL2 decided to lock up on me. I decided I would do a reinstall of windows. Well now the chip is showing up as a single core. I have installed the driver from AMD. I don't know what to do now. I am stuck. All my specs are in my signature.

thanks for the post, that is a good thread. I decided to look for a bios update, and they did post one since I last checked. I loaded it up and my comp is recognizing the 2 cores again. I notice something, When I look at my POST screen it doesn't always say what CPU is installed. When it does't show, I don't have hot dual core action, but when it says what I have it works perfect. Any ideas on that?
