for those of you with dual core cpus, what are your temps using this program:
http://www.thecoolest.zerobrains.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=137

on my opty 165 @ 2.8ghz
core1: 41-43c
core2: 34-36c
these are idle times and would explain why core1 on my cpu craps out before core2

using speedfan/smart guardian, it shows 36-38c. my guess is, its the average of both cores.

X2 3800+ 2.53Ghz 1.375 volts Using stock heatsink coupled with a better fan in a well ventilated case.

When Idle:
Core 1: 34 - 36
Core 2: 36 - 38

When Priming:
Core 1: 57 - 58
Core 2: 57 - 58

When Folding:
Core 1: 54 - 55
Core 2: 55 - 56

Nice little progie :)

My Opty 165 0610 Stock volts @ 2.8ghz

When Idle:
Core 1: 17c
Core 2: 16c

When Priming:
Core 1: 49c
Core 2: 40c

I love this program. I guess Core 1 isn't makeing good contact with the IHS

Initial report...

My X2 3800 running at 2.6ghz

Core 1 IDLE: 41c
Core 2 IDLE: 45c

MBM reports 34c idle....

Load temps soon....

OK with a couple hours of Folding@Home behind it, that prog now reports core 1 at 59c and core 2 at 63c....MBM5 reports 52c. Quite a spread on the temps...now which is right? :p

so how is this program supposedly measuring my cpu temp differently than, say, the onboard sensor read by my Abit or everest programs?

if you click the link in the OP, it explains where it takes the temp :)

I guess it just confuses me why the other programs wouldn't read from the same sensor....so should I assume that that sensor is more accurate than the abit/everest?

Opteron 165@ 2.5Ghz 1.392Volts
IDLE
Core 1: 32C
Core 2: 33C

LOAD
Core 1: 39C
Core 2: 40C

system in sig, makes me disappointed with my wc, maybe my mobo isn't reporting them correctly?
Idle - core 1=31 core 2=39
Load - core 1=47 core 2=48
(my fluid temp is 28c at load according to a probe dropped into the resevoir)

What I'm courious about is why is my idle temps so low? I mean I'm not really complaining but its odd that they are well below everyone else's.

Funnily enough, with my processor at stock speeds with the ninja on top, my old gigabyte motherboard reported ~28C idle and ~34C load temps, but the Abit reports a good 10C higher (which is why I don't trust it). This CoreTemp program however reports the same temps as my old gigabyte board....I wonder if it is more accurate.

don't worry about idle temps. it is load temps that is important.

I've never believed mb temps. I'd have to try out this program because I've spent way to much time on doing measurements/test that were more accurate than any mb sensor and turned out that my watercooling even w/a storm rev 2 and decent loop that my load temps were actually hitting 49-51c (1.55vcore). A lot of people think the mb temps is the be-all-end-all and it's not. I had a extremely accurate probe actually making contact with the my cpu die and came to find out that 3 motherboards I tried these on were all wrong according to the the temps, with the DFI being 6-7 lower than actual. Even right now when I use this new program I have my doubts on it's accuracy. I've not read how it's getting the temps or really used it much yet though. But the reason why I kind of doubted was that if my ambient temp in my room is 28.8c and it's reporting 25c on one of the cores then something is wrong. Either cpu core should be at least at ambient temperature of the room unless my loops internal temp is lower (doubt it, not much temp change in the room).

current temps
Ambient 28.1
Core 1 29c
Core 2 24c

system has been running all night (downclocked 1000mhz 1.0vcore)

Yes I know load temps are what is important but to me idle is important as well. What I'm asking is why are my idle temps soo much lower than everyone else's.

because these programs are not accurate. make sure there is no high-flowing air around your cpu. If you don't wc the pull the fan off for a brief second two and see if your temp increases.
downclock your cpu as low as you can go, then lower your vcore as low as you can boot, see if the temps then get even lower. I think alot of the programs use voltage/current/resistance calculations instead of actual temp probe readings.

This program has to be incorrect. Reporting 23-25c on one core when my ambient temp hasn't even gone below 26c the whole day, and computer has been on most of the day. I'm going to change my bios temp calibration and see if it reports differently.
My computer boots up and reports 22c when the room is 26c, yeah right.
