dual core optimizer question

Hello,
My question is, should the AMD dual core optimizer show up in the taskmanager.exe if it running properly? I ask because I installed it, and I see it is listed as a startup app in the registry, but it wont show. Also, If i manually double click the .exe, it will show up in taskman for a split second, then disappear again!

Finally, I looked at it in the Windows Add/Remove Program section, and it is listed as being used 'rarely', even though I have supposedly had it installed for a few weeks..

I have a X2 4600+ AMD processor, with latest drivers installed for it. I have also disabled the MS Windows hotfix for the dual core issue, since i heard there could be some issues with having both hotfix and dual core optimizer enabled at the same time

Nah we use singe core. Dual cores are for noobs.

Edit: I have the same thing as the OP. Never bothered me though, I assumed it acted something like a driver.

Better to be a noob dual core type, than a slow single core type....

Mine doesn't show up in task manager either but I've never given it a second thought.
