Hi !
I am new here and i dont know much about hardware so sorry if my questions are too amatuer :)

i have following PC :

Cpu: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ Performance E6700
Cpu fan : Coolermaster HyperTX Intel
Mainboard :MSI P6N SLI-FI, nForce 650i SLI
Graphic Card :nVidia GeForce 8800 ULTRA 768MB
Ram : 2GB DDR2-800 Dualchannel
HDD : 250GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 NCQ 16MB SATA-2
DVD Drive :LG GSA-H42L 18x/18x DVD±R + Lightscribe
Power Supply :LC-Power 550Watt Supersilent
Case : LC-Power 7012SD Midi-Tower

When i Installed my Mainboard Driver ,there was this Programm Called "Dual Core Center" with the driver .
but everytime i start playing a game like STALKER for example the system overheats after a while and an alarm goes off .
i wanted to know wether this is the probleme with the Dual Core Center software or does my system realy overheat ?
there is also different modes on the dual core center software wich you can choose from like "Silent mode" "Cool Mode" "Game Mode" and so on .but when i choose the game mode the computer freezes .i would also like to know what kind of problem that is.
and last but not least ,i also get the probleme when i play certain games, that i see a line in the screen for a split second.you know, somthing like a fram rate probleme.it is as if the screen gets split into 2 parts for a second.i thought this might also be connected to the overheating problem somehow .
can help me with these problems ?

Thanks A Lot .

I'd uninstall this software and reboot, that way you can rule it out if the problem persists. Doesn't sound like it does anything useful. If there is still an issue, the logical step to take is install CoreTemp/TAT and Orthos. That way you can put your processor under heavy load and monitor the temperatures. If that doesn't show any problems then it may be the vid card or a power supply issue (never heard of LC Power, but as it appears to have come with your case it is probably sub-standard). If it shuts down and the temperature isn't sky high, it is almost certainly a PS issue.

BTW the 'split' screen is simply tearing caused by vsync being disabled. When the vidcard isn't waiting for a vertical refresh when rendering, the monitor pixels are still refreshed at 60Hz (or whatever it is set to) while the graphics card is updating it as often as it can.

I second the suggestion to stop using Dual Core Center. Overclocking is best handled manually by the BIOS so things can be tuned properly, rather than what a piece of software thinks are settings that might work.

I Dont remember disabling V-Sync any where .How can be sure if it is enabled or disabled ?
