I have a FIC AU13 nforce 2 mobo, supports dual channel memory. I had a stick of CMX512-2700c2, XMS 512MB stick, and well, I went and bought another stick of the same exact stuff today at fry's. I am wondering if I can run dual channel if they are the same sticks. Also, I have it OC'ED to 350mhz on the ram, I can go further than this right? I am running a Barton 2500+ and have it oced to 2.1 running 45c and would like to push it more, but whats the max I should push the ram, I know its ment to be pushed but what do you guys suggest, thanks again!

Dual channel memory is supposedly "matched" at the mfg. So the likelyhood of your two pieces purchased separately running dual channel is slim. They might though.

how do i know if it is all running in dual channel?

also, do u know what the max i can OC this ram?

The AU13 has 3 slots for DIMMs, two of which are grouped together. Put one stick in the lone slot, and then one in one of the slots of the group of two. Refer to the manual also.

As for OCing this RAM, you don't know for sure how well it'll OC, all silicon is different.

Wrong! They sell matched sets basically for convenience. You can go ahead and buy another stick of CMX512-2700c2, XMS 512MB and you shouldn't have any problems. I bought my 2 sticks 1 month apart and have no problems running in dual channel.

Also, the BIOS will flash a message on your screen on boot up saying that your running in dual channel, and the speed of the ram you are using in Mhz. Well, at least mine does. I have a Biostar nForce2 board.

You shouldn't have to do anything. just populate the 2 appropriate slots with the same sticks of ram and it will run in dual channel automatically. you will have to check your motherboard manual to find out which 2 slots. if u use all three slots the it doesn't matter.

how do i know if its running dual channel, I mean what enviromental changes take effect, what will seem to run betteR?

Your not going to see a huge difference because it's an AMD system. But, you can download CPU-Z 1.21 and find out on the memory tab.
