I have xp pro and windows 7 dual booted on my sytem. It has been running fine for three weeks or so. I now have a problem with my xp pro partition. It is the biggest partition and has most of my stuff on it. I do need to get into it. When I start it my screen comes up and my programs start loading. Then the screen goes black. After about a minute it will restart. I don't know what the problem is and I can't get into it to find out. I try putting it into safe mode but then it goes into windows 7 without giving me a choice of which operating system to use. Windows 7 is working fine. The only thing I have been able to think of would be to uninstall windows 7, delete the partition it's on, then restart in safe mode with the xp pro partition as the only one. It will be a real drag if it turns off while in safe mode. Hopefully, it won't and I can find out what is wrong or do restore to get it going. I really don't want to have to go through uninstalling windows 7, deleting the partition then putting it all back on after I get the xp pro working again but if I have to I have to. Does anyone know some other way to go about this? This was the first time I had dual booted but I don't think that windows 7 or the dual boot had anything to do with the problem with the xp partition. I could be wrong as I can't get to xp to find out what it wrong. Anyway, any ideas?
