I recently added Vista as a dual-boot to xp, installed it on a second harddrive. I'm attempting to tranfer file from XP to Vista, but it's been a pain in the rear because I have to take over the file or whatever, and it takes forever. Is there a quick way to move stuff over, other than wasting a bunch of cds/dvds?

The easiest way is to have a data drive. When I was dual booting, I split my primary drive in half. XP got half, an Vista got the other. All of my data files were stored on the second hard drive, which became E:. I never ran into ownership issues of any kind.

build a domain controller and use a domain account :D Preferrably stick your user in the domain admins group.

ok so this isn't actually serious advice, but it would work.

This is exactly the same method I used, and had no problems either....
