Ive got a Biostar 6BDU Motherboard running dual P3 667MHz Slot 1's. Now when I plug in my fresh from RMA Wester Digital 40gb IDE drive, it hangs on the detecting IDE devices. I try to set them in the BIOS but it still screws up. The comp boots fine without the hard drive though. Did WD send me back a fubared HD? Its the only drive on its chain. Jumper is set to master.

The WD is no good. Send it back. Western Digital has gone to the dogs lately, or so it seems. I have a WD that may be the toughest drive ever, but it is an old one.
If it isn't one drive brand, it's another. As soon as one drive manufacturer fixes their problems, they are replaced with another company that screws their drives up. Go figure.

Ok I hooked up another HD and it works, but now the BIOS is hanging on the Adaptec SCSI Bios (It has onboard SCSI).

Should I be able to disable it in the BIOS?
