I got the go-ahead at work to start building another Beast server, to replace the current aging Beast-1 server.

I'm looking at making this one a dual 939 board.

I've seen the K8N-DL, but it's a 940 board.

Will there be any issues? Because I'd like to run dual dual-core chips.

Thank you.

There are *no* dual socket 939 board, as 939 chips do NOT support the second HT bus required to run another chip.
Dual s940 is your only option.

edit1: ever heard of an opteron 2xx on a s939 platform? No? exactly. 2xx and 8xx series are s940 only. And no current athlons support SMP, for the same reason.
edit 2: Also: there are opteron 265-280 and 865-880 chips out there. So you can still run dual core dual socket (4 cores total), just not on a s939 platform.
edit 3: I think cores is the most possible ATM for an AMD motherboard, 8 dual core chips...i think.
