So, I was thinking the other day of combining my gaming computer and my file server computer into a smaller footprint. I found this case that I think I can do the job with (YeongYang YY-0221), and with a little bit of elbow grease, I should be able to fit a full on gaming system on one side, and a mini-itx system on the other (for a file server), and watercool both. The only catch was that I wanted to use 1 PSU. Thus, here comes the inevitable question: is there any PSU out there that has 2x 24 pin connectors to run 2 systems at the same time?

Thanks!

Maybe power your mini-itx motherboard with one of these, and use a standard PSU for all of the rest?

I am almost positive I have seen these in the server market, but they may not have been ATX form factor. I'll look.

This is very possible and probably the most efficient way. But for sheer minimalism in the case and overall simplicity (and also just out of curiosity), a dual 24 pin PSU would be what I'm looking for.

On another note, is there any way to convert the molex connectors to 24 pin connectors? Sorry, I'm kinda just throwing ideas out there...

Only power supplies I've seen with dual 24 pin connector are for dual 1U systems. That makes them proprietary in size and pretty expensive. They won't have PCIe connectors or much of anything since they are not designed for such applications. You may be better off using something like the picoPSU and then powering it with one of your PCIe connectors (you would have to mod it a bit of course).

Actually, that would be a fairly easy mod, too. Just take apart a PCI-e extension cable at the male end, and pop the pins (in correct order, of course) into a, what is it, 3.5mm plug?

N/M, I see it isn't a 3.5, but still and easy plug to purchase even at Rat Shack.
