Hardware is not my strong point -- too much to keep up with :)

New PC time, and I'm actually going to step into the realm of dual displays - but I'm confused.

So far, it seems I want Dell 2001FP connected to a 9800XT video card. I've searched around newegg.com and tried to pry info outta [H] w/out a search function.

What option do I have for running dual monitors in this setup? I plan on going with AMD 3400+ chip in an undetermined mobo. Do I have to use a different port type off of the 9800XT for each monitor? I'm not lookin for n00b flame, just info......

ThanX

The 9800XT doesn't have dual dvi outputs, only has one dvi and one analog. So, you'll be running one of the 2001fp in analog mode.

Running the 2nd one in analog mode - Will there be a noticable difference, or lack of performance there? If it's not something that would annoy me visually, it sounds like a good setup.

Any objections/other opinions to this?

No, that's fine. I run my dual lcd displays the same way, one lcd with the dvi connection and the other on analog.

Yup yup yup. Somebody here uses Dual 2001FP's and runs one DVI and one analog. He says one looks a light bit brighter, but other than that it's about the same.
