Dual 20" questions

I had a couple of questions for those lucky enough to own two 20" LCDs. I read a review of someone who had dual 17" and was running a resolution of 2560x1024. What would the resolution be for dual 20s?

How does this work playing games? Does the game utilized one monitor and you still have the Windows desktop up on the other? Any other benefits to warrant the expenditure? Thanks

A single 20 inch is usually 1600x1200. So two of them would be 3200x1200.

For games, most of the time, it maxes out on one monitor and the other one you can't really interact with - if you move the mouse over or try to click on something on that desktop, it's the same effect as alt tabbing out of the game. You can certainly run something in the other window though, like IE to display a website, but you won't be able to interact with it. Note that if you run the game at something other than 1600x1200 both monitors get set to the same resolution, which can be pretty annoying to look at.

Lots of people like to multi task so they choose to go with dual monitors, mostly coders and video editors from the looks of it. Really a personal choice... Consult other threads for people's perspective, quite a few have popped up recently... Maybe borrow a friend's monitor and temporarily try it out for yourself before you decide on going that route...

Good luck!
