DSLR - Sensors

Giottos Rocket Blower is the best option to clean dust off the sensor yourself. Don't use a regular cheap blower (like I did at first ) The rocket blower has an air filter built in and blows air much more forcefully than others. Otherwise, you just end up covering your sensor in dust.

If you have persistent dust that doesn't get cleared by the blower, I recommend taking it to a trusted pro shop to do it. I just wouldn't want to screw it up.

Giottos Rocket Blower or Eclipse wet system...... I also usually send it to Canon once every year to get it cleaned.

I am cheap. I started out trying to do it the proper way with a blower. I then moved on to canned air, which I made certain wasn't going to blast any of that frozen crap out on the sensor. I had one really stubborn piece of dust that I ended up cleaning off with a lens cleaning cloth.

It worked great and nothing broke. It is probably better to just clean it the right way more often than to wait until it needs a serious cleaning.

I figured that I am careful enough to clean off negatives, prints, etc, so I should be able to clean a sensor.

the rocket blower is great of normal use and when the sensor gets extra diry i use the eclipse pec pads and eclipse fliuid wrapped around a walmart silicorn spatula.
