DS3L glitch?

So I was trying to push my system last night on my gigabyte p35-ds3l and decided to bump the clock frequency on my quad (q6600). Anyway, I had a weird thing happen...naturally with any OC there's trial and error....unplug cable, plug back in...re-do what was wrong. Anywho, when doing this it reset everything back to 'stock'- 2.4ghz ...etc. So I re-enabled the adjust frequency thing and bumped it a bit lower than what I had it before failing to boot... *here's the weird part* The multiplier and frequency were enabled just fine, but my processor says the stock speed- also the ram is back to stock as well. To me it looks like it IS OCed just fine, but everything outside of the bios (but including POST) says the stock speed.

Any ideas? I'm not new to OCing, and I've overclocked this processor many times. Also, if I MANUALLY drop the frequency back to stock and same with the multiplier.... it says something crazy like 800mhz. o_O I know I'm going to feel dumb when I figure this out...
 
The problem described by you it's one of the DS3L's stupid "illness", I've seen it many times on other forums too.
The solution for that was a complete clear CMOS (restore fail safe defaults and take out the battery + short the pins), or disabling USB storage devices - please read the FAQ from this 188+ pages thread. ;)
