Any thoughts on RMAing or Replacing a bad 965P-DS3?

I figured someting was up whem XP crashed a couple of times durring the install. Sure enough, the DS3 died within in 90 minutes of a new system build. Replaced all components except for the CPU - no dice.

When it was "Alive" a week 626 E6400 was able to hit a stable OC of 3400Mhz @ 1.375 volts. Not too shabby.

The DS3 seems weak with onboard features, any thoughts on a replacement product with better reliabilty?

I'd either replace or get a P5B Deluxe. Both are good boards. Are you using RAID at all? If so, the P5B D has a superior RAID controller.

i've heard the vanilla P5B sucks donkey balls compared to the deluxe. don't settle for the vanilla, go for the deluxe or RMA the ds3. Depending on how much you got it, maybe you could settle to pay a difference and buy the MSI 975X. Fugger on xtremesystems says it's overclocking potential equals that of the Intel 975XBXLKR (only downside is that you've gotta get a better bios for the motherboard, it's got some bios problems that's being fixed by MSI now)

Im heading down to Frys to see whats in stock. After seeing 3.4 Ghz, I'm not sure if I want to wait another week or two to play with the new system. Newegg is great, unless you get a bum product.

This is the second Gigabyte Motherboard I purchased in this year, making it 2 for 2 to die quickly. The 1st was a 6150 based chipset, now the 965. At least we can say its manufacturing and not the chipset.
