Ok so im seeing all this stuff around talking about these really good overclocks on the new Ati cards using dry ice. I was wondering if anyone did this kinda stuff for the 7800 series of cards. Right now Ati is getting all this free press because they can overclock so high with a type of system nobody actually uses on a day to day basis.

Needless to say it is interesting and I would be very interested to see the maximum overclock with a 7800 series card with insane cooling.

Yeah, free press that on ATI sites typically puts such information in a smaller type. Now the real point is: Who cares. Just publish the clocks of standard cards and when you hear someone quoting it, ask if they have an ATI supplied card running on dry ice or liquid nitrogen. If the store guy says he does, then ask where you can buy one, stock.

I used the same tactic against Circuit City's ill-fated Divx format...

Point is, unless I can buy it stock like that w/ full warranty: What's the bloody point? I leave my machines run 24/7 minus power outages/storms. If this ridiculous setup helps someone's ego, bah, let them.
