So I got a droid x and it has been fine except sometimes it will randomly lockup in the music app. I haven't seen it look up anywhere else. The screen is not responsive and the music stops playing, but the counter starts at 0 and goes to 9 and starts over like it is playing a song. The physical buttons work and I just hit the home button and that usually unfreezes the app. But I'm not sure why it would do that. Should I get it exchanged?

I think it is a pretty well known issue with the droid x. It happens on mine also from time to time. I do not think exchanging it will solve the problem. I started using Mixzing as my music / video player and it works much better with no freezing so far. You can also play based on genres and create playlists very easily. I would suggest using a differnet media player other than the stock. Whenever I try to use the stock player for extended periods of times it tends to lock up/freeze. But like I said this is a common issue with Droid x, look into Mixzing and othe media players that might suit your needs.

+1 ;)

Mine doe's same thing ever since I updated to Froyo 2.2, even wifi stop's every 5 minute's.

Yeah, just use a better FREE app on the android market to play your music.... you might like a new one better than the default one too.

some people recommended poweramp, havent tried it yet tho. check videos of it on youtube might help

Well good to know that it isn't defective, but kind of lame that the stock app doesn't work. I guess I will have to root it also to get rid of blockbuster and skype mobile? They keep starting up automatically.

Yup, the stock player will lock it up. I tried Meridian, PowerAMP, and Winamp, and settled on PowerAMP. It's the best looking most stable out of all of them.

Yeah, you need to root to get rid of those apps. They're installed in /system/app which you need root permissions to write to.
