Droid - text messages problem

I have an annoying problem with my Droid phone. When I have a failed text message, it now declares the red colored "failed" in my text message contact list.

How do I get rid of these?
 
Nobody has heard of this? Or doesn't have this problem?

There's gotta be a way to fix it.
 
Get an iPhone? All kidding aside, figure out why the text keeps failing. I'd start parsing logs or ask my carrier if I had texts failing to send more than very rarely.
 
Do you just need help clearing out the old red alerts? If thats the case download handcent SMS that allows you to clear failed messages.

Otherwise go into your apps- manage apps - All - messaging - then clear data

Thanks! That worked, I just cleared out all the messages.
