So..you just bought that new 939 chip..have 2 gigs of ram, and a 6800U or a x800xt pe and are getting 3000 in 3dmark05?
Many people think a fresh install of windows and install video drivers will instantly give them a high score.
Sorry, nope.
The #1 reason why people get bad scores is people are not installing certain drivers. Always, ALWAYS install chipset drivers first. The order I install stuff is,
1. chipset drivers
1a. reboot.
2. video card drivers
2a. reboot.
3. updates/service packs
3a. reboot.
4. any drivers for other hardware..etc. Then reboot from there.
Windows doesnt have updated optimized drivers. They have generic drivers that get the hardware working. To get the absolutely best fps, configuring is done. Even after a fresh install of windows with all the drivers installed you STILL will not get optimized frames. You NEED to configure drivers to how you want things set.
Its like you buy a brand new car. Never adjust the seat, never adjust the radio, leave everything at stock and just drive it.
I hope people will read this instead of posting another thread asking why they are getting poor performance and realize that there is an order to how things are installed.
