drivers update them selves?

So as i logged on to my computer today i opened up msi afterburner to check my fan settings and i found that over night my drivers had updated from 10.4 to 10.8 without me authorizing anything or downloading the new driver. now normally i wouldnt care but i was staying with 10.4 because of the lower idle clocks with eyefinity... (157/300 instead of 400/1300)

this is really annoying because now i have to go re download the 10.4 and uninstall all of 10.8 and redo all my custom settings .............

has anyone else had this happen to them and could this have anything to do with the new steam partnership?
 
Don't new video drivers sometimes appear as part of the Windows Updates from time to time? I recall being prompted for them when I had my NVIDIA GTX 280 installed and running Windows Vista.
 
Yeah, I saw it in update a couple days ago. Avoided it.

I'll update my drivers myself thankyouverymuch
 
windows will update them if your updates are set to automatic.

Which makes sense, if it was ATI or MSI's doing it would have updated to the latest (10.9). Since it updated to 10.8 it makes sense that this would be Windows Updates doing as it is always behind on drivers.
