As the title suggests, my son bought this headset, and cannot locate the driver disc (if it even came with one). Plantronics no longer sells or supports this model, so I am having difficulty finding any drivers for it.

I plugged it in to my usb port, and it sees them, but mic doesn't work, mute doesn't work, only sound. Would like to get full use of them.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help!

Edit: OS is WinXP Pro SP3

Summary: I've been using this headset for two years on my old XP operating system. I just bought a new computer with Windows Vista. I plugged in the Plantronics GameCom Pro 1 headset into every USB port, but no sound. Tried many different MP3 player software without success. Went to a buddy's house and tried his Vista computer, didn't work. Went to a brother's house on his XP computer and it works. Don't use or buy if with a Vista computer. They have NO drivers for this operating system. Buyer Beware.

this link should also answer your question about why you cant find drivers for it..

Ah, ok.

When I plugged it in, Windows installed some drivers for it, but like I said, I only hear sound, and the mic doesn't work, along with the mute button.

OK, thanks for the post.

Yeah, sounds like the "soundcard" portion of the headset conforms to the USB HID spec, but everything else is custom hardware.

Too bad man, seems it's time for a new one :)

does the drivers add anything to change settings for the headset/mic or do you have to use the default sound device setting section?

might have to go in and check the playback settings and make sure nothing is muted.. also make sure you mute the stereo option under playback..

Hmmm...looks like my front usb ports are going (or gone) I plugged it into my rear usb port, and now seems to be working...

Thanks for all the help and suggestions!
