Okay I keep getting irritated with whats going on with my vid card so I hope u guys could help me out what version of drivers and forceware would you install for your GF 4 4200? or would you just install forceware this is pretty simple really but it's driving me nuts.

What version drivers are you using now? What kinds of problems are you having, and in what applications/games? If you'd be more specific, we might be able to point you to something that will help. As a general rule, always update to the newest drivers.

Don't use the new drivers since they will slow you down and be buggy with your card. Use 45.xx drivers instead.

I agree...Forceware will probably work for GF4 and below but they are optimized for the FX series cards.

Oh okay thanks any idea which 45._ version it is?
When I go to Nvidias site to look up an update for my drivers I get that they are the 53.03 ones with forceware. :/
I did a search and I see 45.28 and 45.23 any idea if either of these are the ones?
On the cd my card came with it had version 52.14 on it.

That was bad I installed the 45.28s and I couldn't even get my desktop to look good so I'm not sure which drivers to use now the ones that came with my vid card (52's) or the ones on Nvidias site

are they actually better than 52.14 and if so why just saying cause it looks good with 52.14 so I deffinately only want the best and not a headache again?

If the 52.14 works well for you then leave it alone. Otherwise, try the others that I mentioned and see what works best for you.

I'm going to whats the difference or have you seen any between the 45.23 and 45.33?

You are probably not going to see a difference in performance. Some drivers work better with certain kind of hardware, so you'll have to see what works best for your system.

So if my card is a gf4 ti4200 there isnt really any point in upgrading the drivers from now on then right? I usually find the newest and update but in reality I shouldnt bother right?

I'm hearing lots of good things about the 56:55 driver by GF4 users. Honestly, only complaints I hear are from the FX card owners.

Then enable the memory and core settings with good old 'coolbits' and have fun. Examine the controls of the driver tabs closely, they are way different in this driver.

With the latest forcewares, I had major issues with my Ti4200.

Missing walls in Call of Duty, random crashes of Enemy Territory, and a few other major issues.

I said screw detonators, and I got the nVidia Omega drivers, latest version. They work great, everything is running smooth and all of my problems went away.

Right now.. I think im using the newest drivers and battlefield keeps loosing textures.. :(
what are the omega drivers?
The site with the 56 drivers isnt working too well right now.. I think ill try some other ones...
