Drivers for Firewire

Is there a such thing as a universal 1394/Firewire Driver? Because I have a TI Firewire Card and it use to work not that I restored it doesn't. I can hook up any Firewire Powered hardware piece and it powers it on but falls to read the hardware? I contacted the manufacture "TI" but that said something like it didn't make the whole chip but just parts and my card says "Manufacturer - Texas Instruments" .. theres no one else to contact now....

Any ideas?

Try running Windows update with the card installed, and also try researching it to find the Firewire chipset that it uses.
