yo, so ive done lots of reasearch about this problem and from what ive read, there seems to be no direct fix. while im playing a game like BF1942 or Continuum (Subspace) the games will have random issues. for BF1942, ill be able to play for like a minute or 2 or sometimes an hour and then the game will just lock up and ill have to restart my computer. i dont see any BSOD when this happens. with continuum, i can play for awhile and then when i try to alt+tab out of the game, it immediately BSOD's and i see the driver_irql_not_installed message and it flashes too fast for me to see what the rest of it is. so im just lookin to see if anyone has resolved this problem. ive tried turning off norton auto-protect, disable the onboard sound on my mobo, and disabling the firewire ports/com ports and nothing is helping. it only BSOD's when im playing those games, never Steam Counterstrike 1.6. my specs are in my signiature but ill paste em here for whatever reason i dont know... by the way, the new vid cad (bfg 6800 oc) thats in my specs is going to get to my house soon... hopefully that might solve my problem.

help me please....

have you updated all the motherboard drivers (usually the problem)? and are you overclocking?

not oc'ing anything at all. mobo bios is 1 version behind. bios version 1007 instead of 1008 that just came out recently... maybe i should try updating?

update ur video card driver or use a 3rd party one

also goto system properties, advance then goto Startup and Recovery Settings, uncheck the automaticlly restart so u can see what the BSOD is that is going to fast

double post, something strange happening with my netowrk

sorry for late response to those that were trying to help me troubleshoot. iam running 1 pci card which is my sound card, nothing else. and there is a pci slot open between the sound card and video card. ive heard there were issues with that, so i moved them when i installed my new bfg card. by the way. this is happening more frequently with my new video card in the game continuum, and a lot less frequently in bf1942 than with my old video card that i just got rid of: geforce 2 mx 440 64mb. and i did update my vid card drive and tried rolling it back. same issues.

1) Try memtest86 for at least 8 hours to see if you get any error
2) If so, most likely your memory is causing problem. I've had that coming up frequently when I overclock the system to point where memory is not stable enough.
3) Try reinstalling OS from scratch if above passes without error.
