Driver version comparison request

Would it make any sense to have a review that focuses on say 3-4 different driver revisions, to compare the them and to see how some of the video cards got affected by them?

I'm asking this since the R9 290 (non x) was delayed due to newer driver versions. Allegedly they bring a lot of enhancements. It would be interesting to see how, say during a year, and through a variety of driver revisions, the performance of graphic cards improves.

Anyone else think this would be a useful review? We all know that performance improves, and issues get resolved, but I would like to quantify that. This applies to both Nvidia and AMD drivers, and the review could be structured by the drivers at the time. So say the version of the drivers that was available in January, May and September (or something along those lines).

exactly like those, but for the new cards.. i guess more time needs to pass with a few revs of drivers to be out.

NDA is lifted the 5th so once the 290 reviews come out then we can expect 290X OC results, then 290 OC results, then crossfire, then drivers.

When 2014 rolls around, I think it would be something worth doing to look back at 2013, like we looked back at 2012. A yearly thing I want to keep doing for sure.

I'm wondering if this time, specifically for AMD, if you can devote some extra attention to the frame time/micro-stutter issue. Since this was an issue that was much publicized earlier this year with promised fixes but the actual coverage of those fixes (whether or not they have been implemented and there effectiveness) seems to be lacking comparatively media wise.

Personally I'm more specifically interested in single card and DX9 (since this was the least talked about) and more specifically Skyrim. It seems there was more commentary to improving DX10+ single card and crossfire issues but DX9 titles were more complicated to address in this regard from what I remember from the response from AMD. Although I can understand the dated nature of these games test scenarios not being appealing and likely not tested for this time around (although Skyrim was looked at for the last reviews). However I still have the nagging feeling on the back of my mind I should've gone Nvidia instead for Skyrim performance related to this issue. Game isn't as smooth as I'd like (7950 OCed to roughly 7970 performance at 1080p no mods yet) but I can't chalk it up to whether or not it is an AMD related issue or the game engine itself that is the limitation at this point. Same with The Witcher 2.
