Hi I have recently started to get a stange issue, when i start my pc sometimes the gpu drivers dont load up. I check in the device manager and it shows the 280GTX but has a the yellow alert sign by it saying that 'Windows could not detect the driver or it may be corrupt'

I have treid reinstalling the driver a few times (making sure to completely remove the old ie driver sweeper/safe mode etc etc).

It only happens when my PC has been turned off for a few hours, when I reboot after the intial boot the drivers seem to work ok.

Im using xp pro 32 with 178.24 ver driver

Anyone know why this is happening? It never uses to and is a recent thing.

Thanks

I have the same problem. Difference is i have a 280GTX and an 8800GTX(for PhysX)and from a cold-boot i get "video driver is incompatible with one of the devices" and Windows loads a generic VGA driver labeling the 8800GTX correctly(but disabling it)but not identifying the 280GTX at all. I have to completely wipe any traces of the Nvidia driver and then re-install the driver to get things working again. This only happens with a cold-boot.

I'm using 180.48's and Vista64SP-1 on an EVGA 680i mobo. I'm beginning to despise Microsoft and the peripheral manufacturers. Maybe they think that through gross incompetence/negligence that they too can qualify for a taxpayer "bailout"....

have also tried reseating the GPU. Its not overclocked any and running as stock.

Every morning I wake up and switch my PC on only to find the GPU driver wont load up. As I said it shows in device manager as a 280GTX but has the yellow alert symbol with message 'windows could not load driver, driver could be missing or corrupted'

I have to reboot a few times and if I am lucky they will load or if not I have to uninstall and reinstall the driver.

This is quite a recent issue and have only started doing it.

I have even reformatted twice but the issue is still there.

Any help would be appreciated.

Could it be the card it self??
