Whenever I attempt to install new AMD drivers I keep getting this error: Application Install: install package failure!

googling I've found a few people saying to uninstall ms visual c++ 2010 redistributable, tried it, no dice.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Uninstall them using the control panel.

Then you need to find C:/ Program files/ATI/CIM/Bin64/InstallManagerApp.exe

Click on it and have it uninstall all AMD software.

After that uninstall the Catalyst manager itself.

Delete ALL

C:/AMD
C:/ Program files/ATI
C:/ Program files/ATI Technologies

folders

You will have to reboot once in this process.

After that install the latest driver and CCC etc will all work.

thanks much that fixed it... ati somethething or other ended up causing me to bluescreen, but it worked out in the end.
