Driver Errors in 9600XT

Whenever I'd play a game, it would crash, and I would get an error that was something to the effect of VPU Recovery, and the card wasn't responding to driver commands. I've tried just about everything, used driver cleaner, updated BIOS, etc. I'm just going to return the card and get a 9800pro for a bit more. Is this the right decision, and is there something physically wrong with the card or is it something else in my system? Thanks!

What drivers are you using? Hopefully not the ones that came on the cd in the box.Try disabling the vpu recover also and see what happens. My games would drop to the desktop, although still running. I would alt+tab back into the game and it would still be running fine. After I disabled the vpu recover, it stopped doing that. Not sure if it was the vpu recover or the SP2 update causing the issues, because I never had that problem until I went to the Cat 4.9s and SP2 all within 15 minutes.
