Let's see... the guy crashed his car while using a mind-altering chemical. I stated my opinions regarding the use of mind-altering chemicals. You may disagree with what I say, but I would hardly classify it as irrelevant.

It's most definitely irrelevant. You're just soapboxing about the illegality of marijuana, which has nothing to do with this case. This isn't about the use of illegal drugs, it's about the improper use of legal chemicals while driving.

Well, that's seems pretty obvious, the only other option is that people want legalization because they think people should NOT be allowed to smoke pot.

Phoenix, don't be coy. The context is clear that I referred to both of the substances you said you are inconvenienced by having to show ID to buy.

There is a history behind the reasons why pot is treated so harshly in this country and it's mostly bad policy. Like I said, I don't use it or anything else, but it annoys me that so much is spent to prevent its use. There are already laws to punish irresponsible use of it, alcohol and even "legal" drugs. It's perfectly fine with me that employers don't want workers to use pot. There's liability issues. The problem I have is that I still worry about false positives if I have to take a drug test since it should never show any use.

Go back and read my original post, then go back and read the posts prior to that where people said the driver should have just bought pot instead. *I* did not originally bring pot into the discussion, others did. I simply replied with my own opinions on the matter, including their contributions to the discussion. You're just attacking me because you don't like what I'm saying. If you want to throw down the "off-topic" card you can either apply it equally or else STFU.

Ahh, there's a bit of misunderstanding there. I did not say I was personally inconvenienced in regards to buying compressed air. It was a general statement. This is what I said:

If people didn't want to use mind-altering chemicals in the first place, there would be no need for ID checks on cans of compressed air and pseudo ephedrine.

That is true, and I understand that. I said that going into this that I did not expect anyone that is a pot head to listen to anything I said, and I knew full well they would come out and start attacking me in various ways. It's the same arguments, the same excuses, the same old boring crap that I always hear. That's not going to stop me from exercising my right to say what I feel about something. I don't have to like what they do, and they don't have to like what I say. I can't stop them from smoking dope, and they can't make me shut up. So then, if people don't agree with me ranting about smoking dope and huffing cans of compressed air, they need to chillax. After all, I'm going to say things they don't agree with. Am I correct?
