Just got the new Emachine Althon 64 laptop. Runs BF1942 great...but the drive sure is slow loading. Would it run ok to pickup an external USB 2.0 Drive and install the game on that ? or would Firewire be better?
 
Firewire is almost twice as good as USB2.0 on transfer speed. Definetly skip the USB.

what the hell are u talking about, Firewire is 480kb/s, USB2.0 is 400kb/s, thats no where near twice as fast. Firewire 2 is 800kb/s, so thats twice as much, but no one uses firewire 2. I'd say get a 5400/7200rpm bare drive and some external laptop casing, replace ur drive with the new one, and put the old one in the external casing.
