drive recommendation for Raid 1

Just a few questions, for you guys....

i was buying some drives to use as mains for a new build. I was going to get two WD blacks (1TB) and mirror them, .....then I found out I need to get the REs. Is it worth to stick with them or look into Seagate 7200.12s? (in the interest in saving a little $$. If not, so be it)
