i had my 160gb western digital in my other computer all formatted and running. i moved everything off that drive onto a 250gb western digital. i didnt format after that, and last night i put the drive in my computer. moved stuff onto that drive i and very happy. this morning when i turned on the computer, the drive is no longer seen as partitioned and formatted. i checked this through windows (xp) computer management. whats the deal with this?

not that i think this part matters, but its jumpered as slave and the 80gb seagate is master. the data cable also had a previous drive on it.

Check for virus' or other similar possibilties.

You can try FDISK /mbr if you have a floppy drive (remove all other drives, set it as master on primary then boot to a "dos" floppy with fdisk on it then run it with the /mbr switch) to recover the partition
or Try a recovery program.. (PQMagic if you are willing to buy it)

i know for a fact there is no viruses due to me keeping the box completely off the internet. i'll try the fix /mbr
