I have a need to cut a hole in some plexiglass to allow a dvd drive to be mounted behind it. Now, i know i can just cut the hole in the base plexi but my dremel hand isnt the steadiest and there for, this cut might not be the straightest. since this area will stand out, i was wondering if anyone knew of a place that sells some type of pre-cut faceplates for a single dvd drive. Just a simple piece of metal or plastic like below, with the appropriate size hole cut in the middle to fit 1 dvd drive.

take the DVD tray cover off, trace around it, cut with dremel just inside the line. Use a file to do the rest. You should be able to take it from there. I don't know of any premade ones.

Try Frozencpu.com I know they sell faceplates to replace original ones, but I guess it depends on the case you have and all that. They also sell ones with certain precut holes too.

I have made a few tried at cutting the hole myself, with awful results. the primary problem being lining the hole up correctly with the already mounted dvd drive. I'll give it another go though, was just hopin for the easy way out!

Have you considered just cutting inside the line and filing out to it? It shouldn't be too hard.

Agreed, even the shakiest of hands can easily be fixed by the file, as long as you leave the line when cutting with the dremel. As MrMaxwell said the file will do most of the work.
